Jungle Raj has returned in Bihar because hooliganism has started again in the name of Lalu Prasad Yadav?

This period, which lasted for about one and a half decade when Lalu Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi were the Chief Ministers, is called ‘Jungle Raj’ which still scares the people of Bihar.

Now in the capital Patna, an officer has been beaten so badly that he had to be referred to Delhi for treatment. According to media reports, the accused have committed this hooliganism in the name of Lalu Prasad Yadav.

According to reports, the accused, calling themselves the ‘grandson’ of Lalu Prasad Yadav, have beaten a state government official to death in Boring Road area of Patna. The officer is on ventilator and has been referred from Patna to Delhi. The names of the accused are Tanuj and Nayan Yadav.

Both are sons of Lalu Yadav’s nephew Nagendra Yadav. Nagendra Yadav himself has more than half a dozen serious crime cases registered against him.

The incident took place on Tuesday (January 16, 2024). The victim officer is Deputy Municipal Commissioner Arvind Kumar Singh. Singh was going with his cousin and driver. Many people stopped his car on Boring Road. One tried to take the car keys. As soon as Arvind Kumar Singh got down from the car and tried to question them, they attacked him with rods. They beat Singh badly for a long time and ran away.

Vijay Kumar, an eyewitness to this incident and brother of the victim officer, has told that Arvind Kumar Singh is posted in Gopalganj. He had come to Patna for personal work. Some people tried to snatch the car keys on Boring Road.

While trying to intervene, he attacked Arvind. One of them said, “My name is Tanuj Yadav and I am the son of Nagendra Yadav. Whatever needs to be uprooted, uproot it.” India TV report quoted Vijay Singh as saying, “During the fight, he (the accused) was shouting that you do not recognize me, I am the grandson of Lalu Prasad Yadav…Tanuj Yadav.”

According to Live Hindustan, Nagendra Yadav alias Nagendra Rai is the son or nephew of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s brother. Half a dozen cases are registered against Nagendra Yadav. Serious cases like extortion and attempt to murder are pending against him. In March last year, a builder from Danapur had filed a case against Nagendra accusing him of demanding extortion of Rs 2 crore. This FIR was registered on 11 March 2023.

Arvind Kumar Singh’s condition is critical

In this case, the victim was taken to Paras Hospital, where in view of his critical condition.

he was referred to Delhi. Arvind Kumar Singh was taken to Delhi in an ambulance attached to Rajdhani Express due to non-availability of air ambulance. Most of the bones in Arvind Kumar Singh’s face are broken. There is a blood clot in his brain. He has been put on ventilator.

In this matter, BJP talked about the Jungle Raj In Bihar. Bihar BJP spokesperson Kuntal Krishna alleged that the attackers are from Lalu Yadav’s family, hence no action has been taken against them yet. If this is not Jungle Raj, what else is it?

Arvind Kumar Singh’s brother Vijay Kumar Singh has lodged an FIR in this matter at Rupaspur police station. Meanwhile, DIG Rajeev Mishra, who is holding the charge of Patna SSP, said that Tanuj Yadav and Nayan Yadav are the main accused. Police are conducting raids in search of them. FIR has also been registered against some unknown people.
